March was another terribly challenging month of hyperinflation, with the dollar losing purchasing power like never before with every passing day of this chaotic economy. Since February the Venezuelan government found a way to manipulate the exchange rate of the dollar to bolivar, so it has remained artificially stalled while the inflation rate is of more than 80% a month. I had to expend almost 50% more than the month before just to keep covering the very basics of our cats, taking contingency measures to make the money last. There's no budget I can adhere to because the prices of food just aren't making sense anymore in Venezuela. It is nerve racking and very stressful to live in such uncertainty having the responsibility over the life and wellbeing of so many innocents as we do...
However, this miracle that has already kept us going for 14 months has shown once again that its not going to let us fall. As the needs have increased, so have the help of our supporters. Faithful friends that care about us month after month are as present as ever, and new kind souls have come to our aid too, both with donations and beautiful words of encouragement for me and my family.
A huge THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart goes this month to Linda, Kimberly, Tracey, Cristina, Katherine, Patrick, Andrea, Susan, Iain, Sandra, Claire, Lexy, Darryl, Karen, Kate Martel, Taimour, Vicki, Karen, Dawn, and Kate Menzies; to our kind supporters that chose to remain anonymous; to Laurie, Romana, Magda and Dennis; to my twitter followers; and to the angels of light that keep looking for us from heaven: you once more have given us the strength and hope we need to face any circumstance.
The struggles in this collapsing country will continue but with all of you by our side we will never give up in our mission to protect our dear cats.
Until the next update my dear friends. God bless and protect you and all yours.
